It's a small hatchback with vague Honda Fit overtones. It will reportedly go 190 miles on a charge, and if you want more there's the Dolphin Mini Plus with 252 miles of range—and a $23,000 bottom line. According to BYD, there are no plans to sell these very affordable EVs in the US.

BYD launched a price war on ICE vehicles last month with the new Qin Plus EV and PHEV models. Starting at $15,200 (109,800 yuan), the new EV officially opened a “new era of electricity is cheaper than oil.” The DM-i (PHEV) version is even cheaper, starting at around $11,000 (79,800 yuan).

According to the automaker, the Shark can travel 62 miles in electric-only mode. It's also said to be capable of going more than 520 miles with a full tank of gas and a fully charged battery.
